Promise FastTrack cards work well & support Linux. They
aren't as cheap
as the generics but I've never had issues with one. It may
or may not
support RAID, depending on the card, but of course even if
it does you
don't have to build a RAID set.

Subject: [PCTECH] Suggestions on add-on PCI ATA/133 card?
Folks:
Does anyone have a suggestion for an add-on PCI ATA/133
card?
I'm getting a new server soon, but it only has SATA on the
motherboard
... since my storage is all PATA, I need to get a good
quality card that
I can boot from.
RAID isn't important, just solid functionality and Linux
support.
Thanks!
david
