| Fill out PDF Form |

|

All,
Our CEO receives or is pointed to online PDF forms that need
filled out.
These come from the government, banks, attorneys, etc.
The IRS (www.irs.gov) has some that can be filled out and
saved locally,
like a W4. It's called 'Document Rights' and is slick.
Go to their site
and check it out.
However most banks etc don't seem to be doing it that way.
With theirs you
must print it and fill it out manually.
Is there a way to fill out _any_ PDF? Is that what one buys
Acrobat for?
Even with that, could the author of the PDF protect it
anyway?
Thanks.

Although I'm not 100% sure, I think this has to be
specified during
document creation.
I've found it very frustrating that most PDF forms don't
allow you to
fill them out on screen ... even if you have to print out
the results.

Jeff,
I have been using Acrobat Professional for about 9 months
now, and only with
that product have I been able to create a fillable or
interactive form. I
have not found out how the filler of the form can save the
data they have
typed in to finish later. The form can be set email the
data, or print the
form for faxing or snail mailing. I would love to be able
to have the data
saved on disk so that the person who is filling out a
complex form can save
it, and come back later to finish it up.
As far as I have found, David is correct. Set the form up
at creation
time. Your Idea would be a great product to create! Good
luck.

Well, the IRS is doing it somehow.

_We're_ not setting the forms up. Other companies are
setting them up and
asking us to fill them out. We just want to fill them out
electronically
and send to them instead of having to print. The IRS is
doing it the way
we'd like for other companies to do.
It sounds like the onus is on the other companies to make
them in a proper
fashion.
Thanks.

After any part of the form is filled in just save it. Next
time you want the
filled in information it will be there.

Gary,
Is that with the free reader or with the full version of
Adobe? My
understanding is that you can not save the file for latter
completion. I
will have to try with a Acrobat reader.

Hi Jim,
You can do this with the Pro version. Not the free version.
This thread
was talking about (before it was snipped) the Pro version.
Thank you,
