Question concerning licenses

Hello,

I know, libxml2 uses MIT license. My question is: can I
distribute
software under terms of BSD license, if my software:
 a. contains libxml2 as a part
 b. only uses it but not contains

Actually, 2 questions..

  I guess this should be fine, but I'm not a lawyer, you
should ask a lawyer
if you have any concern about this. I don't know what you
mean by 'contain'
and don't want to get involved in any definition of it,
really.
