Hello Everybody!
I am new to this group and I thought I'd take a few minutes
to say hi
and introduce myself. My name is Dr. Tom Nevitt and I have
spent the
last 20 years working with people who are suffering with
anxiety
issues. Recently, I moved back to the United States after
living and
working in Europe. In Europe, I was a Senior Project Manager
with the
EU Medical Advisory Board. As Senior Project Manager, I led
one of the
first teams of Crisis Intervention professionals into the
war-torn
Country of Kosovo. Today, I live and work in Savannah, GA.
where I do
workshops and seminars for companies and groups of people
who want to
improve the quality and productivity of their lives. I am
also writing
a book (very slowly) and putting together a web site. So, I
have a
number of irons in the fire.
I have been reading over some of the recent posts here in
the group
and I have many of them most interesting. I look forward to
getting to
know you all better. Feel free to contact me anytime, I have
my e-mail
address listed and I am on google IM. Hope to hear from you
soon.
Regards,
Dr. Tom

Greetings Doctor Tom, First let me take the time to welcome you aboard and don't forget to buckle your seat belts, he ride can get quite bumpy sometimes and we try to guard against anyone getting hurt by falling flat.
Any advice is welcome as long as it is heartfelt and non abusive. We are a supportive community trying to fight our way to sanity through many of life's turmoils. The foibles that we possess are the qualities that cause our uniqueness and yet we have many tools we share to get through this thing called life.
So pull up a seat, kick off your shoes, roll up your sleeves and lets get down to the nitty gritty. " How you doin'?" Mr. Ben Z.

Good intro, Ben! I couldn't have said it better myself. Been
to the
beach today, trying to get a breakthrough....not emotionally
this time,
but in writing. I've been doing a fast draft romance with
people,
mostly other women, all over the world. We are committed to
supporting
each other through about 20 pages a day. At the end of two
weeks, we
have a first draft of a novel. How's that for an idea? So,
I've been
working it. Up to about 90 pages. Then I hit a brick wall.
But the
beach helps break that down. Just a change of scene with the
wind and
the waves....and with Dean out there, stirring up the Gulf,
the waves
are pretty big. And since I felt something of an undertow, I
decided
not to go out too far. Seemed like the water wanted to suck
me away
from the shore while the waves were pounding me back. Time
to sit in
the sand! Found a LOT of feathers and a few delectable
shells today as
well as got to try out my new camera. So, not a bad day.
Also, scored a
bunch of free 3 ring notebooks from Freecycle to bind my
books with.
So...it's all good today.

Cynthia, That writing with input from all over sounds way too cool. If you couldn';t tell I love to write. I draw on my life experiences and try to relate it to where I am today and how I got here. I am also a hopeless romantic but not too many people enjoy the ramblings of an old school fag. I once wrote a letter to someone I was enamored with after a date and it scared him so bad that I never heard from him again.
Let me know where I can read your writings and how the journey goes. I would like to get involved in something creative like that because even though life isn't always beautiful, life itself is a beautiful thing.
Peace to you and your household, Mr. Ben Z.

Maybe your ramblings could be refocused into the wonderful
world of
romance. Never know. Ever read a book and say, "I can
write better than
this."???? We ALL have. That's how we get started and
then the words
just keep pouring forth. The great thing about Fast Draft is
accountability. It's not just you alone in a room with a
computer or a
pad and pencil. You're doing something that people all over
the world
are doing at relatively, the same time, taking into account
the
curvature of the earth and different time zones. And then
you compare
notes. If you get stuck, someone is always online. When you
have a
success, you hear the cheers. If you don't make it, there's
still
encouragement. So, it's all good.
Right now, I'm procrastinating so....I'm off to get my pages
done!
Later!
