Hello,

I am trying to install Linux on my x50, but I don't know
how to get
recent versions of the necessary files. Many files are
mentioned on the
wiki's HowTo page, but JeDi seems to have taken down the
x50 part of his
web site, so many of the links are broken. This affects the

pre-compiled binary package, kernel patches, and kernel
configuration
files. I couldn't find files on other parts of the wiki,
so where
should I look for the latest snapshot?

Thank you,
Benjamin

Yeah, I'm sorry about that. I had to clean out that
webspace, new
admins and all... I still have the files, so if anyone wants
them, I
could probably put them up somewhere temporarely. I'm still
looking
for some more webspace (will have a look at work).
I just got back from an offline holiday, so it'll take a
while for me
to process all mails and such.

JeDi

How Big are the Files? Depending on that i could give you
perhaps an
Subfolder of my Webspace with your own FTP-Access
permanently.

I've put the files back online. They are all in
http://lu
mumba.uhasselt.be/~jedi/x50-linux/
If someone has mirrorred them, please post here, cause I'll
have to
delete them again soon.

I suppouse the package has all the latest files (it's one
day older than
one file inside the x50v directory).

Any instructions needed or does it work ok?

Thanks

It's the exact same package that was online before, so the
same
instructions apply. I actually don't remember what changes
were made
recently :-s

I put 'em up here http://x50v.imploder.org/

Do you have more, how about sources? What did you start out
with to make
these?

Jelle.

Great! I can probably keep some files online too, but not
packaged and
all, and for one architecture only. But as I really don't
have time to
work on this project for the moment, it's probably better
to have them
online somewhere else :-(

> Do you have more, how about sources? What did you start

Normally, all files that I had are online there. There were
some
developments with a better touchscreen driver since (I think
the guy
who did that is called Kai), but I haven't had the chance
to try and
test it, sadly enough...

The sources I used are just the latest handhelds.org kernel
from CVS.
You can find fairly up-to-date instructions (apart from the
links to
my webspace) here: http
://www.handhelds.org/moin/moin.cgi/x50vHowTo

Good luck!

Greetz,
JeDi

P.S. Sorry I can't really help more at the time, hopefully
my schedule
will clear up soon and I'll have some time to dedicate to
this great
project again
