Would I be wrong in thinking that only a small part of the
code would be needed to boot android.
I'm not great with these things but isn't android fully
contained?
Aren't they called bootstraps that load an OS?

to load the google android platform. I think that could be
a great use for this paperweight that's otherwise not being
used. As I mentioned, I wanted to make sure I could even
get the framebuffer issue right on the X50 before I started.
Now that it seems to be working, I'm going to take a look
at any other outstanding issues before I even look towards
android.

The thought is to start with the android kernel google has released (based on 2.6.23) and patch it with the required modules for the axim. ; It will also need to be patched to remove the qemu goldfish support and fix the arm support. but you're right, from the current HH kernel you would only require a part of the code. ; Although, I'm thinking it would be easier to get everything working with the current HH builds, and then worry about moving it to android. As for the bootloader, my thought is to continue using haret for the time being. My idea for this is not so much using the axim as a pda but to make it into an iPod touch like device.
