    Hi All,

I installed sabayon(binary) in ubuntu dapper drake thru synaptic.

I downloaded the source from their repo, tried compiling. Its failing in configure itself. The error which I get is below,


checking for XLIB_MODULE... configure: error: Package requirements (gdk-x11-2.0 pygobject-2.0) were not met.
Consider adjusting the PKG_CONFIG_PATH environment variable if you

installed software in a non-standard prefix.


Alternatively you may set the XLIB_MODULE_CFLAGS and XLIB_MODULE_LIBS environment variables
to avoid the need to call pkg-config.  See the pkg-config man page for

more details.

I tried searching for gdk-x11-2.0 and pygobject-2.0 in ubuntu repo, but could not get them.


I want to get involved with the development of sabayon as the goal of sabayon and mine seems to be same 

Any ideas or suggestions on how to overcome this error ?

    Hi All,

Successfully compiled Sabayon in Ubuntu Dapper Drake 

It was my ignorance of not having the backports enabled and unmet dependencies.

The steps were simple,

1) sudo apt-get build-dep sabayon

2) sudo apt-get -b source sabayon

thats it 

Thanks to Sebastein, the Sabayon package maintainer of Ubuntu

Now, me going to look into the code and how I can contribute 

Any documentation on code somewhere ?

I haven't seen any documentation on the code, but it would
be great to
have.  In the future it should be possible for sysadmins to
script some
of Sabayon's functionality (say, by using a Python module). 
If you want
to get started with this documentation, it would be
fantastic!

Eeeek, I had not seen this.  This is awesome!  How did you
generate it?

Can you keep it up to date?   I'm
looking forward to filling in all
the inline docs in the sources.  This is a great resource;
