Gnome-vfs / gamin monitoring

Hi,

Currently we use gamin in dirmonitor.py.  Using Gamin
directly scares me
a bit:

- Gamin is unmaintained, AFAIK
- Not everyone uses Gamin for that reason (openSUSE - we use
inotify
from gnome-vfs-monitor).

We have a patch at Suse that makes Sabayon's dirmonitor.py
simply use
gnome-vfs-monitor, and it seems to work well.

Are there any objections to changing Sabayon to use
gnome-vfs file
monitoring instead of gamin?

If you label as unmaintained all packages whose last release
is more than 3
months old, that's gonna be an awful lot !

Maybe you didn't look at the inotify code in gnome-vfs. Its
not
particularly clean imho...

Anyway, I don't quite see the point of stacking abstraction
levels like
this, but I don't think it matters much either way.
