| Strange Phenomenon in presentation mode. |

Hi again all,
I am using Saq;s presentation mode tiddly and I am having
some strange
effect. Very hard to explain in a clear way.
I know about having to close the browser window and opening
a new one
if I wish to jump to authoring mode, #Author:true.
For some reason, and not all the time, but a lot, I am still
getting
the display mode. To cure this I have gone as far as
clearing cache,
clearing cookies, clearing everything. Closing firefox
completey and
starting over, then when I enter the address with
#Author:true, I
still get the presentation mode.
I have even shut down and restarted, and yet again,
presentation mode.
Ahhhrgggg!
I was able to cure this by going to a saved version of
presentation_empty_full.html#Author:true, and then
navigating over to
my working version, then *finally* I was able to get in to
it for
editing.
(I have added the tiddlyspot plugin and the upload plugin,
but other
than that, it's the presentation_empty_full with only my
contents
added).
To complicate things more (or maybe this is a separate
issue), once
I've uploaded my tiddler to tiddlyspot, and navigate over to
there, I
didn't see the changes. (I had the same set of issues going
into
#Author:true on line - to at least verify if the lastest
version has
been uploaded.)
I finanlly went to another computer, and navigated over to
tiddlyspot
and yes the latest version was loaded and working fine.
Am I facing some kind of caching issue? Wish I had a better
handle of
what's going on here to give you more specifics.
Regards,
Joe

Can't remember right now whether its case-specific or not, but its supposed to be #author:true . All small case. Other than that I can't really think of any reason why you would be having this problem. I've been using this extensively online and offline without a problem.
I'd be more than happy to take a look at your file if you can post a link or send it to me. Cheers, Saq

I get this refusal to start in author mode too.
I suspect it's FireFox rather than the TW.
I've set up a bookmark containing #author:true and when I
use it I
see FF quickly turn the URL such that
#author:true
becomes
#author%3Atrue
If I use the browser [back] button, the correct url is there
and a
reload usually opens in author mode...
I wonder if it might be related to an extension - tho'
currently it
feels date related as I can't get the thing to fail on me!
I'm running FF 2
My Extensions
""""""""""
"""
DOM Inspector
Talkback
Textaloud
Paste and Go
Scrapbook
Evernote Web Clipper
Tab Mix Plus
A gut reaction points at Paste and Go sine that let's you
paste a
URL and then jumps there with no further user interaction -
so it
might be intercepting the bookmark...

I am suspecting some kind of caching issues. Could there be
something
in FF that survives clearing cache? Turning off/on? But
that's crazy,
having same problems in IE.
I have none of the plugins that Chris has.
The page is on http:\houseinhungary.tiddlyspot.com if
anyone would
care to see it.
Here's a new one... in FF the images won't display. In IE
they do. Now
I am convinced 100% that I am crazy.

Joe

The problem is definately on my computer. Pages come up fine
at work.
And yes, #author:true in lower case did the trick
