Thread: For Each Tiddler Plugin for dummies, second try

For Each Tiddler Plugin for dummies, second try

I know there are often delays in posts going up, but my more
recent
post is up and this one did not. And the first time I sent
it there
was a server error message. So let me try this again just in
case. If
both come up, please pardon the redundancy.

After searching through this group and after looking at all
the
examples on AbegoExtensions, I still can't find simple
instructions to
do the following, and would appreciate it if someone could
write down
what I would need to paste to do this:

1. I type a word in the sidebar search window. If need be I
hit a
button that says search.
2. What comes up is NOT all the tiddlers that have that
word, but
instead, one tiddler with the results in an alphabetical
list.

Sounds like this is pretty easy to figure out for most of
you, but not
being a programmer I am stumped. Thanks for any help you can
give me.

Dave Gifford

What you are asking for could be done using the ForEachTiddler plugin but it would require recoding an essential part of the YourSearchPlugin, and not the easy part of it. So if you are "not a programmer" I recommend not to try this.

If you think YourSearchPlugin is to heavy (as written in the other mail) you may want to have a look at Eric's SearchOptionsPlugin (http://www.TiddlyTools.com/#SearchOptionsPlugin ). I think it is between 1/3 to 1/2 of the size of the YourSearchPlugin and also give you the "result list" feature.

Thanks Udo,

Yes, I ended up using the search options plugin after
someone
recommended it, and it works great.
