Thread: Managing groups and permissions

Managing groups and permissions

I'm using Trac 0.11 with Subversion and I'm using fine grained permissions in Trac.

I now have 2 access files; one for subversion access (authz_svn.access) and one for trac (authzpolicy.conf)

I have groups in both of these files and also in the permissions management in trac webadmin. So now I'm managing groups in 3 different places. At the moment this isn't a great hardship, but I can see it could become a nightmare when I get my new employers using SVN and Trac in anger.

So my question is : How do other people manage their groups and permissions? What plugins and file set-ups do you have that help keep things centralised and simplified?

Thanks for your feed back.

Regards and New Years best wishes and greetings

Stephen

Have you tried combining your two authz configs?

Its something I was considering, but wasn't sure of the ramification for svn access rights when you've got

[*]
admin = TRAC_ADMIN

in the file along with the svn stuff.
