Hello and welcome to the second installment of TG topics.
Enjoy!

In the front page
Python.org's website has been revamped and TurboGears got a
prominent
placement in
the new front page right along Zope and Django.

PyCon
Those of us who didn't attend PyCon can take comfort with
second hand
accounts:
Mikke Orr has written an article for LinuxGazette:
http://linuxgaze
tte.net/124/orr.html

Steve Holden has an entry commenting Kevin's talk:
http://holdenweb.blogspot.com/2006/03/effective-ajax-w
ith-
turbogears.html#links
His blog has very good coverage of the event in general:

ot.com

If you want to see some mugshots flickr is your friend:

Kevin has uploaded a paper, code and a nice screencast of
his PyCon
talk:

Kevin has also posted a PyCon-wrapup:

The Docudo project was kick-started with a sprint in PyCon.
Docudo is an effort to build a tool for managing and
producing
documentation for software projects.
You can join the group list:

And grab the source and start playing:

LDAP provider for Identity
Timothy Freund is everybody's friend since he started to
bake an LDAP
provider for Identity.

If you have LDAP running give his provider a try:

Framework comparison - the NASA way
Sean Kelly, NASA employee, created a nice fast-paced
screencast
comparing different frameworks:
J2EE, Rails, Zope, TurboGears & Django. TG did quite
good.
http://oo
dt.jpl.nasa.gov/better-web-app.mov (400MB)

Framework comparison part two.
Sean's run-up used TurboGears ver. 8.0. Gasolin presented
to the list
a re-implementation based on
the 0.9a feature set.

TurboGears consulting
TG's own BDFL is available for consulting.
If you are interested in providing this kind of services as
well,
send Kevin a note.
The idea is to display a list of companies & developers
somewhere in
our website.

Roadmap
Release 0.9a2 aka 'amazing' is right around the corner.
Adopt a bug: http:/
/trac.turbogears.org/turbogears/report/1 or
contribute to the documentation efforts.
The groundwork for the next mayor release code-named 'First
Class'
was laid in PyCon's sprint.
First Class promise of midleware and component reuse bonanza
sounds
enticing.

TurboGears in Spanish
Alberto has created a TurboGears list for spanish-speaking
developers

New documentation site for CherryPy
The CheeryPy crew has put together a new documentation app
to replace
their wiki
The url is: http://docs.cherrypy.org

More CherryPy news
The release candidate for 2.2.0 is now available including
improved
WSGI support.
Christian Wyglendowski has a post describing how to run
multiple WSGI
apps:
http://blog.dowski.com/2006/03/08/cherrypy-and
-wsgi-can-play-nice/
CP 2.2.0 will ship as part of TurboGears 0.9a2

FirstClass branch
