Hi all,
So I do a lot of work with heartbeat for HA setups, and I as
I started
poking around in upstart, it seems that there may be a good
match
between the OCF resource management in Heartbeat v2 and the
way
upstart manages resources. It seems like there is a good
opportunity
for a nice integration to make HA Ubuntu systems fairly easy
to deal
with - at least once things are using upstart and not just
the sysv
compat layer. But I wanted to float the idea out there and
see if
anyone else found it interesting.
It's not as if this couldn't be accomplished by simple
scripts that
just called start, stop and status on services. But since
both systems
are event and dependency driven, it seems like a heartbeat
plugin to
interface directly with upstart in some intelligent way
could be cool.
Anyway. Just a thought.
