Thread: eth1 not auto starting

My primary network interface is actually known as eth1. I
have it
configured in /etc/network/interfaces.

iface eth1 inet dhcp
auto eth1

At boot up, it isn't brought up. I have to type ifup
manually. I suspect
the hotplug system is supposed to invoke this properly when
it detects
eth1. It's not.

Please file bugs on the bugtracker instead of the
development list.

Do you have your eth1 mapped in /etc/network/interfaces?

please file bug report at https:/
/launchpad.net/distros/ubuntu/+filebug
with all the necessary information if this is not expected
behaviour.

Since Dapper we don't use hotplug any more.

Have a nice day,
 Daniel
