Ubuntu on HP Proliant and HighPoint module crashes

Hi, I'm trying to set up Ubuntu server on HP Proliant ML350
G3 hardware with
HighPoint 1520 raid card.

Module hpt372n crashes on cd startup.
As I see it, the only way to install Ubuntu is to remaster
the cd - remove
htp372n/hpt366 modules and add working hpt37x2 module
instead.
Thats a lot of work. Are there other options?
Is there a way to disable those drivers at boot prompt and
use some driver
disk?

Also xorg's ati driver does not work on this hardware (ATI
ES1000 chip).
If I would hunt this bug, where is best place to ask for
help?
