I find it best (fastest & most convenient) to use
FreeNX.

vncserver can be started out of inetd - at port 5900

This is why I switched from VNC to FreeNX - one day that
just stopped
working. I had always had to be very careful about KDM
updates because it
would keep breaking my XDMCP logins, and eventually I
couldn't figure out a
way to make it work at all.

Have just tried using this but cant find any howto docs that
work, could
you please point me in the correct direction?
