Public bug reported:
At one point during the feisty fawn development the
"Unmount" option on
the drop-down menu for removable media got replaced by a
"Eject". This
new option work fine with my pen drive, however it does not
with either
my Cybershot camera or Western Digital external hard disk
drive.
If I use the "eject" option on the external hard
drive, first I get a pop-up box always "Cannot eject
volume", And on the right-side lower corner of the
screen a balloon with "Writing data to device There is
data that needs to be written to the device WD 3200JB
External before it can be removed. Please do not remove the
media or disconnect the drive."
However if I open a terminal and use the "umount"
command I can umount immediately just fine. The equivalent
happens with my Cybershot camera.
