IRC ping idea

People often want to speak someone from a certain team, or
someone who's
the maintainer of a specific package (group). You can ping
everyone you
know of that team, but often you don't know anyone.
A lot of IRC clients have the option to bleep when a certain
word is
mentioned. I think it would be a good idea if every member
of a team
would put the teamnames of teams they're a member of in that
list(or
something similar, any thoughts?). So if anyone would type
for example
'ping: ubuntu-bugcontrol' the members of bugcontrol now that
their help
is needed. And if you're responsible for e.g. ALSA you'd
put
alsa-maintainer in the list and people can find you.

What do you think?

More usefully, actually say what you want rather than just
"ping", and
then other folks have the option of contributing. If you
don't know
anyone from the team in question, it's also quite possible
that you
might be wrong about who's best to help you. (I see this a
lot.)
