Beware - that the Kubuntu Live CD instructions are copied
from the
Ubuntu information. One side effect of this is that with
Kubuntu, only
a *single* click is required on the installme icon! A
ubuntu style
double click will bring up the installer twice (too much of
a good
thing! ) and the
installer will crash at the second opening.

If you want Kubuntu on the same machine as Ubuntu, you don't need the installer. Just type
 ;   sudo aptitude install kubuntu-desktop
and you'll be all set.

You have several options. First is don't manually partition
the drive.
Second, download and use the "alternate CD" for a
text-based
installation. Third, probably most favourable, is to boot in
to the
current Ubuntu installation and in a terminal type
"sudo aptitude
install kubuntu-desktop", this will download and
install only the needed
packages. If you want to go back to just "ubuntu"
again, type "sudo
aptitude remove kubuntu-desktop".
