Fn + Screen brightness on Asus F3JV

Hi,
I have an Asus laptop (F3JV) and Fn+volume_up or
Fn+volume_down is
really OK.
But screen brightness is not possible to be set.
Would you know any thing about that?
Is it more an X setting or what could be a tip?

i had the same problem with my fe series vaio, smartdimmer
is the solution
i used. i just put 'smartdimmer -s 9&' in my
/etc/rc.local which sets the
brightness to a level i like on boot, however you could use
the -i & -d
options bound to a key combo if you require more
flexability. however as 
far as i know this tool only works with nvidia cards.
