user changing their own password

I am setting user accounts up with default passwords.
i want to have the users log in for the first time with a
default password
then change the password to whatever they want.
but i don't see where they can do that from the desktop

i am looking for a solution that isn't "open up gnome
password, type
passwd and then the new password"

is there a gui tool for users to change their own password?

Select User Name
Properties
Choose set password or generate random password

At least I think thats what you're look for?

System-Preferences-About Me.  You'll see the "Change
Password" button on
the top right hand corner of the window.
