Rendering problems etc

I just upgraded to the latest version of Opera from 8.54,
mainly so that I
could see if these problems would be corrected in the latest
version. This
shows the rendering of an Insane Journal page calendar on
both Opera and
Firefox:

At www.insanejournal.com, there is supposed to be a menu at
the top, but it
does not show in Opera:

To remedy the menu problem in order to be able to use the
site, I changed my
viewing options at the site. On Opera, I saved the cookie
to remain logged
in, but when I closed Opera and then came back later, my
viewing options
had reverted to default and thus unusable to me. I have
Firefox set to
delete all cookies upon closing, but as soon as I log in,
the correct
viewing options show.

Any help will be appreciated

The menu is coded to disable itself when it detects any
version of Opera.
The site needs to update to a later version of the menu (any
version
released in the last three years should do).

You can work around it by setting the site-specific
preferences to Mask as
Firefox.
