Java

I am using Opera Version 8.51. I have installed Java jer
1.5.0-06 which is the 
latest. I went to tools/preferences/content/ and found the
correct path, 
(according to the "Choose Options") and enable
Java stays checked. The test 
applet still does not show up. Where do I go next to check
this out? Thank
