Position : CUSTOMER SUPPORT ENGINEER – CSE

 

JOB CONTENT


ROLE OBJECTIVE
The CSE will be charged with providing 1st and 2nd level support to Force10's core, aggregation, edge and security platforms. 

 

AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY 
         ;     •; These duties will include responding to more complex customer software and hardware queries, as well as providing analysis for customer       ;           ;           reported problem scenarios. Part of the role will also include building lab topologies to facilitate problem recreation and verify software bug fixes.
        ;      • Other duties will include monitoring assigned customer accounts for trends, anomalies and problems, generating scenario specific tests for  ;           ;           ;     customer topologies, and delivering quarterly service summaries to key customers.
     ;         R26; CSE’s responsibilities is the interaction and, when necessary, the escalation of issues to Development in order to provide timely customer problem          ;       resolution. ;
     ;         R26; The CSE is also charged with acting as a mentor and technical resource to more junior staffers.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
Level of Education
 Bachelor of Engineering from a reputed University – B.E. OR MCA

 

Experience
 Three years desirable.

 

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS
Functional Knowledge
     ;          • This position requires a strong analytical thinking component in conjunction with solid communication skills.
     ;          • The candidate is also expected to have good time management skills and the ability to approach problem solving from a creative, yet still methodical, perspective.

 

Other required skills include:
- Linux/Unix and server OS proficiency
- C+, Perl and/or Tcl programming
- understanding of TCP/IP
- understanding of L2 protocols (i.e. STP, RSTP, MSTP)
- understanding of L3 protocols (i.e. OSPF, ISIS, BGP, RIPv2)
- understanding of QoS, multicast and IPv6
- understanding of various security protocols (SShv2

 

Desired Skills-: Very Critical

- ability to interpret source code

Behavioural Skills
         ;    • ;The candidate must illustrate a strong desire to acquire new skill-sets and be aggressive with replicating customer problems.
     ;        • The candidate must be able to effectively manage relationships across teams.
