Hello all...

I have been running into trouble installing an old trusty,
very simple
program. It seems to run find on the machines that it was
previously
installed on, but now when I try to install it on other
machines, I
get "can't find installable ISAM" errors.

It is just a simple program with a dbgrid and some code to
do a
database search on a textbox the user enters a value in.
Since the
dbgrid is associated with the database it is already
populated with the
records.

Chris

MS decided to not include the DBGrid with VB6.
You have to go to their website, and download it
(Not sure if it is on the VB6 MSDN Help DVD)
I have created a stand alone installer, which the user RUNS
ONCE, to
install and register DBGid on their machine.
My real programs are not distributed as installers. I just
give them
an exe to run.
I normally avoid any dependencies, but the free SGrid2 is
just too
useful. So I use a similar trick to install/register it.

I don't use bound controls these days, so my memories on the
DBGrid
problems may be faulty.
You can email me, if you want, and I will send you my DBGrid
installer.
