I was also in that lab in Orlando. 1:15 is NOT enough time
to cover this topic! Although I imagine that if you attend
a classroom sessoin where things like basic control
structures and other syntax rules were discussed before you
went to the lab, that would have been a tremendous help.
Problem was they didn't offer the classroom session in
Orlando.
Peter is right: I left that room very frustrated.

I put the code on the www.opensource4iseries.com site if you
want to
preview the session. I picked up a couple of good ideas but
that was
about it.
I can't remember the instructors name but perhaps this will
be a
different instructor or perhaps he will be better prepared.
I may check
it out again.

Folks,
I would suggest then that you contact COMMON in Chicago or
your favorite
board member, etc., and suggest that they schedule a BOF
session for PHP
NOW and get it on the sched. Those things can start around
6'ish as I
recall and go until you run out of beer or air...

Don,
I will put in a request to get a BOF scheduled on this
topic. Will you
be there to lead the BOF? I already have several going so
it may be
that I'd get double booked. I would like to attend this BOF
as I am very
interested in PHP on the iSeries.
Because BOFs are normally only schedule if enough people
sign up to
attend them I would ask that anyone who wishes to attend
this bof reply
to this note so we can get enough folks on the list.
Thanks
- Larry

Larry,
I'd be more than happy to if I were going to be there.
COMMON was moved
from NOLA into the same time spot at my kids spring break
and we're already
sched'd to be in the smokies that week, so I'm there for
the weekend, ask
the experts evening(which I'm staying over for
intentionally) and then
leaving real early on Monday to join the rest of the family
in the mtns...
BTW, Jim, since ATE is now on Sunday pm, are you still
putting a
midrange.com table up?
Reason I suggested they get the BOF on the books now is so
that interested
parties know it's there and can put it on their sched's...

| PHP at COMMON *BOF REQUEST* |

|
2006-03-20 20:42:01 |
Here is the deal:
Sunday night at ATE (That's Ask The Experts for the Acronym
Challenged)
there will be a table for PHP. We hope to have an IBM expert
at that table.
Monday there is the session and the LAB for PHP
Monday from 12:30 to 1:45 is Ask the Developers (ATD) and
PHP will be
represented there as well. The ATD session does not conflict
with either
the Lab or the Session.
Any of you are welcome to post for a BOF which certainly
will be
accepted if enough folks sign up but we cannot get any IBM
develpoers or
experts to commit to the BOF. Monday night is Very busy with
BOFs
already and the developer will only be in Minneapolis Sunday
Eve and Monday.

2006-03-20 23:12:07 |
Is the BOF sessions open to non-attendees? I will only be
there as an
exhibitor but would love to sit in on this BOF.
I looked on COMMON.org but couldn't find any info on that
question.
