Greetings,
I have a Win 2003 Standard server, and have run into a weird
issue with
the Performance monitor. Using perfmon.msc, if I try to add
a counter,
the "performance object" shows only numbers, as
opposed to a component
like "processor". Similarly, the sub-menu of
selecting counters from a
list also only show numbers.
Here's a screenshot of what I mean:

Has anyone encountered this before? I found an MS article
(#300956)
which explains how to manually rebuild the performance
counter library,
but would prefer to look at other options.
Thanks,
ajh

Looks like I found the culprit, 2 empty values from:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINESOFTWAREMicrosoftWindows
NTCurrentVersionPerflib 09
Both 'Counter' and 'Help' were present, but had no values
assigned.
Hopefully restoring them will correct my issue.
tks.
