I have xp home and win98se on one hd. I had some jpg's in
win98 folder
that I wanted to copy over to my XP folder. While in the
process, i
actually saw the movement as I had windows explorer opened
to both OS.
I used the Cut ( win98) and paste in the XP function and
actually saw
the cut version disappear and it being added to my XP
folder. A couple
of hours later, I turned on my system and forgot the folder
that I had
pasted, so I did a search, remembering the names. Nothing
showed up.
Where did they go? I went back to the original folder in
win98 and
they were there, even though I used the 'cut' mode, the one
difference
is that 4 of those jpg's extension was changed to RTF. I
tried to open
it, and all I get is that this file is not a valid win32
application.
Now I can't open them. Why would copying them to another OS
drive
change that extension? I need those pictures..anyone know
how I can
get it back? I did try renaming the extension back to jpg,
but it did
not work.
