have you tried changing the settings?
Press the disconnect button (otherwise you won't be able to
change
much) then go to Properties - Configure.
Check the baud rate (Bit's per second) Data Bits, Parity,
Stop Bits,
and flow control.
Of course, the settings will be different for different
devices, but a
standard setting is usually
Bits Per Second = 9600
Data Bits = 8
Parity = None
Stop Bits = 1
Flow Control = Hardware
However, if that isn't working, you could try changing 9600
to 2400,
the flow control to XON/XOFF or none and /or Parity to
either ODD/
EVEN or none.
I haven't come across any devices where the Parity needs to
be
anything but None though.... and i have never needed to
change the
Data or Stop Bits, so it's probably advisable to leave those
alone.
So just have a play with the Bit's per second and Flow
Control, trying
different settings and you 'should' get something.
Also, from the Settings Tab, it might be worth checking
Emulation is
setup for VT100... either that, or Auto Detect.
If you had specified what serial device it is, we might be
able to
assist further, but i hope that's helped..... if only a
little bit.
Cheers,
Daz
