the problem occurs with windows xp sp2. I have two installer
exe
files. file 1 is of size 400 mb and file 2 is of 800mb. file
1 and
file 2 has same resource files and can be viewd through
resource
hacker (freeware tool). when I view files through windows
explorer the
icon for file 2 is missing. even when I right click the file
no
version information available.
Even the windows support tool filever.exe can view the
version
information correctly.
I searched on the internet extensively but couldnt find the
reason.
uptil now I have reached to conclusion that for installers
size about
500 mb do show correct version info and icon, but files
above this
size do not display even though the exe contains resource
files.
I checked for muicache entry for the file, even there I
couldnt found
the entry same as that of file displaying icon.
has anyone came across such problem?and found any solution?
