{WindowsXp Group} Can't delete certain programs from "Add or Remove Programs" in Control Panel

There are some programs listed in "Add or Remove
Programs" that have
no "Remove" button. Why is this? I am the only
user on this computer
and I am listed as being the Computer Administrator. I am
running the
Home edition of Xp. The program that I want to uninstall is
a program
that I installed on the computer and not one that came with
my Dell
system.

The first thing to try is to look in the programs start/
programs and /
or program files folder to see if there is an uninstaller
located
there (may be called uninstall.exe or unwise.exe)
If you find one there then you can just double click it to
uninstall.

If not , many programs such as antivirus have these features
disabled
as a safety precaution to prevent viruses from uninstalling
them.
Instead you put in the install cd and run it and it will
detect the
installed version and ask if you want to uninstall it ,
repair it or
modify it.

You can change the REG value of the program missing the
uninstall
button. Some have them off by default. see http://www.w
inxptutor.com/arpbuttons.htm

Finally there are third party uninstallers such as
http://www.snapfiles.com/reviews/ZSoft-
Uninstaller/zsoft-uninstaller.html
