| {WindowsXp Group} stuck in 640 x 480
resolution |

I reinstalled xp (wasnt the brightest thing, but i did it)
and after
the set up and stuff, my computer was displaying this
horrible
resolution (640 x 480). so i right clicked, when to display
properties.
i click the settings tab and was surprised/angry to find
that i couldnt
change that resolution. I tried to change the color quality
(thats
affected the resolution in some other computers ive worked
with) and
its stuck at 16 bit.
I ran windows troubleshooter and they suggest updating my
monitor
drivers. So i clicked my way to the point where it shows me
what
monitor i am using and gives me the option to change its
properties.
Only problem is taht i can't clikc the properties button.
and, I
switched out monitors and its still that way.
Any help would be great...this resolution is killing my
eyes.

The problem is that your video card drivers are not loaded.
Unfortunately it sounds like you have very little knowledge
of the
hardware and software components of a computer. Your best
bet would be
to take it to a friend who knows computers or to a local
shop. Loading
the correct drivers and loading them correctly can get
complicated if
you don't understand the basics. When you reloaded XP you
may have made
it necessary to reload every hardware driver for every
component in
your computer that requires one.

First, you will want to figure out what kind of video card
you have.
If you have your computer documentation it will usually be
listed.
Check the computer manufacturers website for information on
which video
card came with your particular model. Download the
installation driver
for that particular computer.
Most manufacturers these days have a simple program to run
that will
set up your video card.
Did this help? I can get you more detailed information if
you tell me
more about your computer.
Good Luck,
