Why can't you just import the subprocess module that comes with the Python distribution?

I9;m experimenting with writing scripts.

Because importing subprocess fails. If it didn't I wouldn't
have a 
problem. 

I could add my normal Python installation to sys.path - but
I'd like the 
script I create to be used by everyone at work, so I don't
want it to be 
dependent on installation location of Python etc...
