As a senior member of the engineering team you will champion
the 
architectural integrity, consistency, and long term future
of the 
division's products. You will assist senior management in
charting 
future product and technology strategy and provide
leadership to the 
technical community, particularly the organization-wide
design team 
of principal engineers.

You will both lead and work with teams to coordinate the
evaluation, 
conceptualization, design, and integration of major new
capabilities 
into the product line and all supporting engineering
processes, 
ensuring that product design and technology choices position
our 
client well for the long term while efficiently satisfying
short term 
market requirements. You will partner with the engineering
management 
team to lead the organization in cost-effectively building
great 
products that scale to meet the needs of the marketplace.

Success in this role requires the ability to work
effectively at 
multiple levels ranging from in the trenches with individual

engineers, to at the white board with senior designers and
managers, 
to around the board room table with senior corporate
executives. This 
means that you need to be comfortable and effective
communicating in 
many different ways and advancing an agenda through personal

credibility and influence. This position reports directly to
the 
division's Chief Architect.



Requirements:

* BS in Computer Science, MS or PhD preferred. 

* 10+ years experience in software and systems development 
including all aspects of systems engineering.	

* 5+ years experience in complex systems and/or web-based 
enterprise applications product architecture and design. 

* Demonstratable results and skill in technical architecture

management in a SaaS environment, including business case 
development, assessments, developing roadmaps and gaining
executive-
level consensus, technical reports, recommendations, white
papers.

* Experience with enterprise solution design and
development, 
relational databases, HTML, Java, .Net, web services,
patterns, model-
based architectures, Open Source technologies and Agile
development 
processes.

* Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
