Cadence is currently seeking a project manager with experience in
managing software development projects. Opportunities exist in
building n-tier enterprise-grade applications from the ground up
using the latest technologies and methodologies.
Key Responsibilities
The Project Manager will be responsible for the successful execution
of an IT project. The Project Manager establishes project
requirements, and timeline; closely tracks the teams' activities to
ensure tasks are completed on time; carefully manages project plans
to ensure early identification of any potential issues and works to
resolve them in a timely manner; ensures that the overall goals of
the project are met.
Responsible for ensuring that appropriate project management
methodologies are adhered to in the life cycle of the IT project. The
project manager will serve as the point of control, escalation, and
resolution as project or system issues arise.
An understanding of software development methodologies is necessary.
These should include knowledge and experience with the following:
the Rational Unified Process, the Open Unified Process, Scrum, and
Feature Driven Development.
Additionally, the project manager should understand the work products
that should be delivered as part of a successful software development
effort and the interdependencies amongst them.
The project manager coordinates activities of the IT and business
user staff, ensuring that all project deliverables and business needs
are met. Uses independent judgment to make decisions where no clear
precedents exist; adjusts plans and deliverables with the right
approvals and the business goals in mind. Ensures that all standards
are followed and controls are adequately designed and implemented.
The Project Manager will be responsible for leading the software
development team.
• Create detailed project plans, project schedules, and risk
management plans
• Monitor and report on project progress, including, schedule,
issues and project risks
• Identify and resolve project issues, risks
• Manage project scope and change requests
• Coach and mentor technical and project team members on effective
project management practices and techniques.
• Lead project meetings, effectively communicating project status
• Manage project teams of technical and business resources
• Monitor tasks throughout all project phases
• Ensure product quality, including application design and system
controls
• Coordinate project related topics with external stakeholders,
including vendors and business areas
• Plan and lead application testing and deployment
• Ensure all project goals are met
• Develop and track project success criteria.
Requirements
• College degree required
o Project Management certification, financial certification, or
master's degree, preferred
• At least six or more years of related experience are required
• Previous experience as a software engineer preferred
