keymap failure and respawning too fast messages

I installed SP1 and the Jul 24 virt-manager (virt-manager-0.3.1-0.23.x86_64.rpm) and Aug 3 xen updates (xen-3.0.4_13138-0.47.x86_64.rpm, xen-libs-3.0.4_13138-0.47.x86_64.rpm, xen-libs-32bit-3.0.4_13138-0.47.x86_64.rpm, xen-tools-3.0.4_13138-0.47.x86_64.rpm, xen-tools-ioemu-3.0.4_13138-0.47.x86_64.rpm).  Then I created a paravirtualized vm.  The boot shows:

Loading keymap Couldnt open /dev/tty1

Loading /usr/share/kbd/keymaps/i386/qwerty/us.map.gz    ;           ;  failed

Loading compose table winkeys shiftctrl latin1.add  ;           ;      failed

Start Unicode mode

Couldnt open /dev/tty1

Couldnt open /dev/tty2

Couldnt open /dev/tty3

Couldnt open /dev/tty4

Couldnt open /dev/tty5

Couldnt open /dev/tty6   ;           ;           ;           ;           failed

Loading console font lat9w-16.psfu  -m trivial

Couldnt open /dev/tty1

Couldnt open /dev/tty2

Couldnt open /dev/tty3

Couldnt open /dev/tty4

Couldnt open /dev/tty5

Couldnt open /dev/tty6   ;           ;           ;           ;           failed

Couldnt get a file descriptor referring to the console

Then after I log in, the VM keeps getting this message:

INIT: Id "x0" respawning too fast: disabled for 5 minutes

Am I reading Bugzillas 161721 and 192034 correctly, which seem to indicate that these problems should be fixed in SP1?

All a good idea, but to be clear, these updates in the
host/dom0 won't affect or prevent the messages below.

What version did you install as the guest? SLES 10 GA?
SLES 10 SP1?

The messages below suggest to me that the VM was installed
from SLES 10 GA or maybe even older. I thought all such
problems were fixed before SLES 10 GA shipped, but I would
have to double-check to be sure. They certainly should be
fixed when installing SP1 as a guest.
