The code examples on the pattern library are provided under BSD license just as the Yahoo! User Interface Library code is made available. You should read the license there, but the short answer is that that code is available for commercial or non-commercial use— please read and follow the license.
Yahoo! Code found on our various sites is not made available under the same license and is the property of Yahoo!, Inc.

I understand the Yahoo User Interface library is available for the public to use but
can I use the Yahoo! design patterns for my own commercial site or are these just guidelines? Can i use the actual Yahoo code directly by taking a look at one of the yahoo web pages or is that not alllowed?
