Towards the middle of November 2007, Yahoo! Search Marketing is planning to launch a new version of the Enterprise Web Services (EWS) Marketing API. EWS Version 3.1.0 is a minor version release and is backward-compatible.
About this Release
EWS Version 3.1.0 will be released to the EWS sandbox about two weeks prior to an anticipated mid-November production release. This release is backward-compatible, which means you will not need to re-compile your code against this version's WSDLs.
New Features
This minor version upgrade provides optional headers for "on-behalf-of" authorizations, which will be contained in the new WSDLs. This means that you no longer need to modify a WSDL to include the optional headers. This upgrade only impacts users who perform work on behalf of others, but we understand that this is a much requested enhancement for these users and are excited to make this available to you soon.
Starting with this release, Yahoo! Search Marketing is also performing additional back-end system upgrades, including moving select accounts from one colocation to another. During this time, the impacted account will have limited API access for a few hours, and upon completion of the upgrade, you will need to send a request to the LocationService to retrieve the new URL prefix for the new colocation. These upgrades will be ongoing with the start of this version launch and will only impact a select number of accounts. If your account is selected for a system upgrade, we will contact you well in advance to inform you of the schedule and duration of the upgrade.
