Hi guys,
I39;ve read a few articles and it says that yellow dog supports mac products. I've just downloaded version find and everywhere it's just talking about psp. Can someone confirm that v5 will work with Mac Book or atleast any other mac product?
Also, I39;m burning with magic iso. It seems that the download is not bootable?
Kind regards, Vaz

I'm pretty sure all the version of Yellow Dog Linux
are made to run on Power PCs chips. There's plenty of
Intel based Linuxs out there. If you have older Mac
(pre-Intel) then Yellow Dog is what you want.
If you have a Intel based mac check out this site
http://www
.mactel-linux.org/wiki/Main_Page
Good luck!

The PS3 version of Yellow Dog Linux has been released, this
is probably
what you have found. The PPC Mac version will be released
very soon,
this is what you want unless you have a recent x86 based
Mac.

Dear Vaz,
Right now a Mac PPC version of YDL 5.0.1 is being beta tested. The latest version of Yellow Dog Linux that works with PowerPC (not intel) Macintosh Computers is 4.1. I think the 5.0.1 version is likely to be available in a matter of weeks if not days. If you have an Intel Mac like the MacBook, you will probably want to try Fedora which is the closest version of Linux to YDL.

Hi Vaz:
The MacBook is an Intel based machine; if you want to run
the Linux
which is closest to YDL then your best bet is to run Red Hat
Linux on
your Mac Book. YDL is unique in that it is the superior
version of
Linux running on PowerPC systems. Of course, the Mac used
to run on
PowerPC systems -- in the past, when this was true YDL would
run nearly
on any Mac.
What has changed is Apple's choice to switch to Intel. YDL
still runs
on PowerPC based systems, which includes the Cell.
Intel is well, Intel. There are lots of versions of Linux
which run on
Intel.
If you believe that you've surpassed what the Terminal and
Darwin can do
for you and you aren't willing to put up with paying for
Server quality
software components -- which are included for free within
any Linux
distribution regardless whether Linux is running on a
PowerPC or Intel
system -- you may begin to understand why more people rather
deal with
Linux.
Best of Luck... Derick
