Hy ZF-fellows,

I created the documentation as CHM file (actually only for
the german
version).
It's not very eyecatching but I think it would be a great
improvement to the
existing html download as it's only one file.

Once created it's simple to rebuild it with new or changed
chapters.

If there is interest I would share my work, maybe we could
even add it at
the homepage and do this also for other languages.
Give me your response...

Greetings

Hi Thomas,

This is great... I actually used CHM version of the PHP
manual for a
long time, but not quite as much today. Today I would likely
prefer a
PDF version to a CHM for portability, but I suspect that
many would like
to have CHM, too.

+1

Best regards,
Darby

Myself would also prefer a PDF but it is complicated to do
one with the
freeware tools.
I tried a little bit but did not succeed.

And as PHP also has CHM docu for download....

Greetings
Thomas

Hy Darby, Wil and Co,

I made a CHM version for English and German.
For the german version I already made an annoucement in an
extra mail for
the german users.

But I didn't want to publish the english version on my blog,
because my
provider would then cancel my account.
1 Mio People downloading the english CHM file... omg...

Anyway... if there is interest I would join my work with the
devteam so we
can make a sort of automatic batch file to have the release
docu avaiable
per release as CHM and possibly also within the nightshot or
seperated the
actual trunk docu.

I would be willing to send the CHM file to dedicated people
I know...
In the german team we are looking forward to integrate
additional features
like index or keywords. But this is not ready for now and
will still take
some work.

Greetings
Thomas

Hy,

as convinience I uploaded the CHM to rapidshare.
You can download it with this link:
http://rapidshare.com/files/84521562/Z
end_Framework_Documentation.chm.html

Still we should think about a generic way for the standard
release.

We can look at the CHM file format, although I'll defer to
Darby on that
since it will add some potential overhead to the release
process.
Do you mean it's hard to contact the team at Zend? If so,
what
improvements could we make? I'll apologize in advance if
we've seemed
unresponsive lately- we are all extremely busy with 1.5
work.
