Hi Mindy,
No I have never used enemas to have a bm. I use 500mg capelt of MOM
every night before going to bed. I drink abouta gallon of water a day
sometimes less. I do not use citrucel, colace, or metamucil. I have
high fiber toast with butter and jam in the am. I eat Natures Own
Healthline Double Fiber wheat bread. Has 5 grams of fiber per slice.
Then I eat something meatless like sweet potato and green peas or
lentil soup for lunch or maybe a salad with romaine lettuce. Iceburg
lettuce is constipating to me. I have carrots or whatever veggies on
the salad that you like. Then at supper I have small amount of chicken
or fish, usually flounder, talapia, or grouper, sometimes catfish
baked with green beans, peas, high fiber pasta, beans of some sort,
tons of veggies. Then at about 9-10pm, I eat a bowl of cereal with
skim milk, like Kellogs frosted mini wheats or Raisen bran. Something
high fiber, 6 -10 grams of fiber per serving at least. I may have a
non chocolate cookie like pepperidge farm sugar or other cookies as a
treat. I do not eat anything white like bread, rice, pasta, potatoes.
very little dairy except yogurt or skim milk, no cheese of any kind,
very little sweets, no chocolate, no caffeine, no shrimp or oysters,
both are constipating to me, and no red meat or pork of any kind. I
will probably never eat red meat again. I do not eat any fast food. I
try to get fresh veggies, b/c they taste so much better than canned.
There is a wonderful recipe for lentil soup that someone posted last
week on this site. I have made it about 4 times in the past 2 weeks.
It is very tastey and healthy. I even use the bacon in it. I hope this
helps you some. Good luck.
Elise
