I hate to say this but the doc that says you have a fissure is probably
right. Doctors are more likely to miss the fissure or say your problem
is something else. If he saw the fissure, he probably saw the
fissure....

How long have you had this problem? There are other methods to try
before LIS. If this is a recent problem you may heal up with topicals
(nifedipine) and diet. Some docs are quick to "cut" while others take
the conservative approaches first and then if you don't heal then you
can get the LIS.

Yes, Sept06 my GP told I had roids no fissure. I treated this for
a month, Oops, went to specialist Oct06 he said Fissure.
Go conservative at first.
Go to a specialist, get your stools soft and consistant, use
(Nifedipine,Nitro) 8 wks. DO NOT Strain ever again.
This could very heal you. Learn how your body reacts in regards
to BM ease, by the foods that you consume. Exercise. Water, Water
Oh ya Water.

Treat it fast and decisive you will heal

I have had this problem for about a year. I have some problems with my pelvic floor from an accident though (tight muscles). So I am not sure if my pain is coming from elsewhere or I truly have a fissure. I do feel about 80-90% better from the nifedipine though. I have only bleed once..........so I am not sure what to make of whether or not I really have one. The doc that saw it said it is about 90% healed. My pain comes and goes.

Can scar tissue be creating the same kind of pain?
