Is diarrhea common with anal fissures? I have been having more diarrhea
lately. It's like I get constipated for so long it finally has to come out
somehow. Does anyone else have this?

I have a feeling your increasing fruit (one to two pieces is not even
the minimum rec, not even close to excessive!) is entirely
coincidental with your 'roids. I'd talk to your doctor about the
cortisone cream, because they generally don't like you to use it long
term.

I feel your frustration - I hope you find somethign that works!

Todd,
Do you have IBS? Managing your constipation is critical. Fissures
don't cause diarrhea, it's much more likely that your alternating
constipation with diarrhea caused your fissure. Talking to a
colorectal specialist would be a good place to start. Find out exactly
what you're dealing with and ask about all options for treatment.

Fissures can be caused by diarrhea as well as hard stools. I don't
think fissures cause diarrhea though
