hi
I need to see what you think
A little History
I am 51 and had this sinus fissure sense I was 17
when surgeons removed a fatty tumor near the bottom of the spine and
the site didnt close good got infected and has been a litteral pain in
the a(&()
Yes I had surgery and other things, but it doesnt go away and stays
inactive for about years and breaks open, Well this time it broke open
on the inside for the first time.
SO now my dr says colonospy to rule out other things and see if he can
see it. They say as long as it is draining it is ok
But this drainage scares me.
It was stopping till i sat on a heatng pad
do i want to keep it open, so continue with the heating pad?
is there any thing I can do to make it better?
Will this test on thursday make things worse?
any ideas
sandi

It sounds more like an abcess than a fissure. And now
the abcess has fistulized or tunneled to the inside.
You need it to drain, the heating pad probably drew
the pus to the surface. If kept inside it tunnels to
somewhere else to get out - like the colon, bladder,
vagina. Colonoscopy shouldn't make it worse and the
best way for them to see what is going on inside. The
clean out before the test is unpleasant and many
suggest eating less a few days before so there is less
to clean out. Make sure when you are on liquids and
jello, none of them are red. Be prepared to spend much
time in bathroom(reading material, word puzzles etc).
Have water to wet the TP or buy flushable wipes. Have
vaseline or lanolin or zinc oxide product to help
things not get too sore. Hope this helps! Janet

I realised the reply I sent you didn't have subject
heading because yours didn't! So the one about abcess
is for you! It helps if you put something in subject
area so you know which replys are for you. Janet
