Both time I had my surgery I took a small spoonful of mineral oil everytime I took the Metamucil. It makes it go a lot smoother so not to irritate your surgery area. It took me over a week to start feeling better. But I also had to sit on a donut pillow too. They sell them at Walmart pretty cheap.

Can you be more specific about what surgery you had and what is this tape? Are you taking stool softeners? Also how long ago was the surgery?

When I came home, there was this big tape across my back side.

Somedays, it feels like I am on fire.

I am taking the metamucil and baths, but I don't feel like they are
helping a lot.

The bleeding has gone down, though.

How long should it take before I feel some relief?

Kristie,

Thanks for the tips. Like almost all AF sufferers, I have a pretty full AF
supply closet with oodles of mineral oil and donut pillows (I think it is
more common to call them "ring pillows"?). I will try your formula if it
starts to get worse. My CRS advised me to stick to a regular diet and stay
away from softeners of any kind for best "long term" results from the
surgery. As a result I dropped MOM and picked up dairy, grains and some
white rice. I guess he wants to expand the area before it is completely
healed (there has been some debate on this previously on this board). His
only prescription is a teaspoon of Metamucil with 8oz of water twice.

Thanks

Parul
