I posted this some 18 months ago but given the recent questions
regarding the nifedipine cream I thought it might be useful to someone.

I see multiple posts asking where to get nifedipine cream. Many docs
don't know and worse won't admit they don't know nor take the time to
research this. But don't give up!
Take them the instructions below:
supplies:
TB syringes
100 ml jar ~ 4 oz. jar (ask your pharmacist or wife)
sewing needle
PROCARDIA 10mg gelules, qty 20
(Nifedipine plain brand name Procardia is sold as 10 mg
gelules that is capsules with liquid centers like Vit E caps.
Note there is a sustained release tablet form which doesn't interest
us here.)
Procardia 0.2% cream is easily prepared at home. It is simply a
question of calculating the number of gelules to make a 0.2%
concentration and finding a suitable vehicle.
Note: Nifedipine 0.2% is the same as saying
0.2 grams in 100 mls of cream = 200mg/100 ml
or ~ 200mg/4oz jar.
The capsules can be punctured with the needle and milked into
a 4oz. jar of cream such as Cetaphil.(I use currently use Biafine
since it is soothing. It is used primarily for skin burns after
radiation treatments and is available online without a script.)
So..... empty 20 gelules into 4 oz (100 ml) of cream, stir well
and there you have it. Apply a full syringe -> doses of 1ml.
Nidedipine 10mg is very cheap, even available as generic.
The inflated compound pharmacy prices for the cream are frankly
tantamount to highway robbery.
Btw don't worry about sticking a TB syringe you know where. Aim
initially toward your tail bone then aim for your belly button.
You can't possibly hurt yourself using a firm but gentle approach.
Inject the cream as you go and voila it slides right in even when in
pain.
Hope this helps someone.
