Hi Theresa,
Cassy & I feel your pain being new Moms ourselves! I had severe pain
for 7 months & discomfort the past 3 months as it's finally healing
due to Benefiber helping me. It is a lot to juggle having a baby & a
fissure. Having a fissure OR baby by themselves are a lot to
handle
I am impressed that you kept up with the running! So did
you use anything else besides hydrocortisone & calmoseptine cream to
help you heal? I too tried the calmoseptine, but it really burned so
I stopped using it. Did you get the fissure due to childbirth or
from constipation afterward? I got mine a couple weeks before
delivery, but, gees, I wish someone would have told me how
constipated you get after childbirth & I would have been guzzling
some laxatives since I already had major constipation problems before
pregnancy (ironically I was completely regular during pregnancy which
is opposite most women). I don't know if it was the
pressure/inflammation from the pregnancy which contributed, but I do
distinctly remember having an upset stomach when pain set in. So,
did you have any odd sensations for a while while you were healing?
Numb/tingly, just not quite feeling "right"? That's where I'm at.
Well, thanks for the post & glad to hear you're healed . . . gives
the rest of us hope!
Julie

07'. i am a runner and when i ran it felt as if i had a peice of
glass in my rear. however, i continued to run with an irritated rear
end. at times i wanted to cry while running, but i continued. my
doctor told me that i should continue to exercise as it did not hurt
the area, although it would irritate the area, it would also build
endorphines that would increase my pain tolerance level. the doc was
right, whenever i ran i felt as if i could take more pain. my fissure
experience lasted from october 07-march 07. i had pain till end of
january, then itching continued throught march. i used a 2%
hydrocortizone cream from my doc to shrink fissure and reduce
itching. the area continued to itch after it healed and i used
calmoseptine cream to end the itching. calmoseptine is a miracle
cream- it smells odd but works wonders. can find on internet or at
local drug store. good luck and God bless you.
