I never considered fruit, and like you I have IBD (Colitis). I love peaches, so maybe I will buy those little fruit cups and try those. I do have a couple tubes of numbing gel my doctor gave me, so I am going to have to start using that until the pain eases off. THANKS for the advice.

I drink about two ounces of PlumSmart every night after taking a
teaspoon of Metamucil.
Also drink water and make sure I eat peas or beans at least once a
day, I also eat more fruit.
I eat the canned peaches if I don't have fresh fruit. I can't eat a
lot of it because it aggravates my IBS,
A little watermelon every morning when in season really helped me a lot!
When my fissure was at its worst-my pain did not go down until I
started taking mineral oil.
That did the trick and when the pain got better I stopped the mineral
oil.
Thats what worked for me! Good Luck...We all know how painful this is...

I am not kidding try the mineral oil-it was like a miracle when I
took it at my wits end. It makes it so much easier to go...
My GI Dr. said I could take it the rest of my life as long as I
didn't take it with food.
If you take it two hours before or after a meal-its fine otherwise it
tends to rob the body of nutrients. But if you dont take it with food-
you are fine..
they give it to babies and its very safe.
I only took a small teaspoon once a day till the pain subsided and
then I went to the measures I do now. Canned or frozen peas or beans
are great
and the the little containers of peaches keep me ok-Also I forgot-I
also take a pro-biotic and a flaxseed oil capsule every morning.

with my IBS, I am pretty sure I have IBD too as well as pelvic floor
disorder. The Dr. said -no surgery for me because with the pelvic
floor not working right-it would only happen again and again/
She said it was much better to treat it conservatively at least for
me. I also am using a homeopathic Dr. these days because I also have
other health issues and dont like to take a lot of destructive meds
with side affects...

Good luck and feel free to write me anytime-

Denise
