Hi Jodi--

I think everybody is different. I have been taking generic, cheaper Colace since May of 05, and it, along with daily Raisin Bran or occasional oatmeal or Shredded Wheat, has kept me okay that long. ; I don't put a lot of milk in my cereal but I do use milk. ; If I feel I am starting to have trouble again, sometimes I eat two bowls of raisin bran a day and I cut back on food and esp. junk food. ; l am hoping my anal fissure and later perianal abscess were sort of a one-shot deal, but I know I am not ever going to take that end of my body for granted again. Good Luck! ; ; ; Fran

PS That is just one fake- Colace per day.

well, i did inquire with my ob-gyn and uro-gyno; both receptionists
told me doctor does not treat patients with af. however i will still
see my uro-gyno in march and ask if she can take a "peek" there. it
wouldn't hurt, right?

and yes crazyhorse, unfortunately i have been "clean" from junk food
for a most a month now...i have been searching for foods that are
high in fiber as well. i had no idea dairy could constipate you, but
how am i to get my calcium?

also you mentioned colace made you contipated...is this normal b/c
after a period of time your body becomes used to it? i've been taking
colace for two days now and it has helped noticeably. MOM sounds
yucky, but i have no choice if the colace fails.

thanks for the tips!
