i wasnt able to do anything when i was in pain my mother told me "stop thinking about it" i cant trick my mind that way - when im in pain im in pain the only thing i used to do was lay in bed ... i couldnt sit sitting made it worse so i would use the shower massager or sitz bath and then lay in bed sometimes with ice, sometimes not it was the only way i was comfortable considering i lead a pretty sedentary lifestyle the pain debilitated me driving, sitting at work (im a legal secretary), sitting at the computer at home it totally ruined my summer last year i couldnt go and sit by the pool i am SOOOOO looking forward to this summer because of that ! anyway probably not much help here as i did nothing for the pain other than to lay in bed   ----- Original Message -----   From: charles kirk   To: analfissure@yahoogroups.com   Sent: Thursday, January 19, 2006 11:48 PM   Subject: [analfissure] What do you do to distract your from the pain when it hits?!   Ok.  Double pain today so bad that I had to leave work   early (man, sometimes you just want to give-up...but   I'll stop right there).  Trying to prepare my mind for  ; a possible surgery and the reports on here are  ; encouraging.  But in the meantime...   What do you guys do when the pain hits? ; Like fun  ; stuff.  Me, I grab like some crunchy salt and pepper   potato chips and chomp away. ; Now here's the gross   part and a confession: I spit them out like chewing   tobacco cuz I know they're not good for me!  Ha!!
